| I've been using this guitar for all of my road work for the past two years, beginning in late 2001. I love this guitar for a number of reasons. First, it plays great. I don't think anyone builds a better guitar than John Buscarino. The neck feels great and the action is a dream. Second, it sounds fantastic. There isn't a dead spot on the neck. Each note really speaks clearly. Every area of the neck feels comfortable. Even for a guitar that has a laminated top and a built in pickup, the acoustic sound is quite nice. It's not the same as one of John's solid carved-top guitars, but it is quite responsive. The pickup is built by Lindy Fralin. This is one of the best sounding jazz pickups out there. As far as a good, workingman's jazz guitar goes, this one is the best. To learn more about Buscarino Guitars check out: www.buscarino.com |

The amp I am using is the Clarus 1-R. This is a great clean sounding amp. It's perfect for the working jazz guitarist because of its powerful clean sound and the fact that it weighs less than ten pounds. Check out this great amp made by Rick Jones. The Leonardo Cabs are really great. I've been using an 8 and a 10 together with the Clarus 1-R for some of my gigs. Really warm clear sound. They do look incredible, but the sound is what really matters.....and the weight being so low makes it nice for getting to gigs. My Leonardo 10 cabinet is a fine piece of equipment that looks as good as it sounds....and it sounds great. I'm proud to add it to my arsenal of tone. Check out these mind blowing cabinets at the Leonardo Custom Cabinets website. |

The D'Andrea Pro-Plec is my favorite pick. It produces a warm, clean sound. They are a bit thick (1.5mm) but the material D'Andrea uses for this model makes it feel softer than most thick picks. It produces a dark sound with solid attack. |
The Buscarino Virtuoso![]() My Buscarino Virtuouso was the first guitar I ordered from John in 2000. It has a 17" body that is 3 3/8" thick. This is the best playing and sounding arch-top guitar I have ever had the pleasure of playing. |
The Buscarino Session Master/Corey Christiansen Model![]() John Buscarino finished this incredible guitar to my specs in May of 2004. It is 2 inches thick, has beautiful maple back and sides, and a solid spruce top. There's a solid block of wood down the middle so it's like an ES-335.....on steroids. The guitar has incredible sustain and is very reponsive. Lindy Fralin did the pickups and all the other pieces of hardware were matched to the nickel plating on the pickup covers. This includes the Schaler tuners which were originally gold. John took the time to buff off all the gold to reveal the nickel undercoating. He's quite the perfectionist when it comes to things like that. The neck is very comfortable and it has stainless steel frets (no fret jobs for quite awhile with this guitar). This is an incredible guitar that delivers quite a few brilliant tones. |
| Here's one of my favorite amps. A mid ''70s Music Man with two 10-inch speakers. I also like using the Line-6 Digital Delay modeler. It's quite a useful little (actually big) pedal. | ![]() |
